Hello fellow Joy Seekers,
Tomorrow I start back at work after a blissful two weeks of joyful adventures and if I’m honest, the thought of returning back to work and the constant work/ school/ life juggle isn’t really filling me with much joy. If I’m totally honest it’s filling me with dread. Holiday “Lucy” feels so much more joyful, happy, patient, creative, playful and calm. I don’t want to lose her in the hum drum of every day.
September is fast approaching (where did Summer go!) and with it the “last quarter” of 2024. September to me has the same feel as New Year - the start of a new academic year, the chance to start anew, the chance to reflect on the year so far and the things I’d like to change for the remaining months. Fresh notebook and pencil case at the ready and it’s time to embark on a new adventure to fill the last quarter of 2024 with as much joy as is possible. It often feels a little easier than cold dark January to be inspired and ready to make changes, with the warmth of summer still within us and helping us to feel more revitalised.
I would love for you to join me on this quest as I start “100 Days Of Joy” on the 1st of September. A conscious decision every day to find joy, to actively seek it out. It feels as we leave Summer behind and the days start to get darker and colder it’s even more imperative to find joy for our wellness and wellbeing.
Close your eyes and picture where you’d like to see yourself at the end of the year? What truly brings you joy and how can you incorporate more of this into your everyday? This is about each of us developing our own recipes for Joy- the unique ingredients that bring each of us joy a personal journey of self discovery. Perhaps keeping a list/ diary so that in the moments when Joy feels hard to find you can get your recipe book out and use it as your toolbox to help.
I will share during the process what I am doing to add Joy to my days as inspiration and I’m going to be seeking out new things I can try in my personal quest to see if they bring me joy, but I’d love to hear from you too. Will you be joining me? What will you do?
I’ll share my daily joy diary over on my Instagram @the_joy_edit_ and will share weekly here during my newsletters.
Here’s to 100 days of Joy!
