March 2026 — An Ode to Joy
I’ve decided that at the end of each month, I’m going to share my “Lucy’s Love List” — a roundup of the things I’ve loved, but more importantly, the things that brought me real joy that month.
It should probably therefore be called my “Joy List”… but I love the alliteration of the letter L, so here we are.
So here is a list of things that have brought me joy in March, that perhaps might inspire you for April.
Female Friends
This month has reminded me of the power of female friendships.
Long phone calls with my best friend — hours spent sharing thoughts, worries, plans and laughter — the kind of conversations that leave you feeling lighter and lifted.
And catching up with friends I hadn’t seen in two years, yet it felt like no time had passed at all (until we started sharing photos of our children, and then I felt very old).
These are the women I’ve grown up with — we’ve witnessed each other’s lives unfold, the highs and the heartbreaks, the milestones and the messy middle. Driving home, I felt incredibly lucky to have them in my life.
It’s reminded me how important it is to find “your people” — the ones you can be completely yourself with. There’s something powerful about women coming together, sharing their stories and learning from one another.
It’s made me realise how much I loved and miss Jessica and Tara’s monthly “Shit in to super power” sessions, the connection of being part of a group of truly inspiring humans. Of being a part of something.
It’s sparked a thought: could I create something like that? A space for women to come together and share their stories? A women’s circle of sorts. I’m not quite sure what that would look like yet — in person, online — but I’d love to know if that’s something you’d be interested in.
For now, I’m going to explore what’s already out there locally… to be continued.
Reading
I picked up “The Art of Travel” by Alain de Botton on my London solo date, and I’ve been really enjoying it.
It explores travel through different lenses — departure, motives, landscape, art and return.
It’s so relatable, I loved the parts about the anticipation of an adventure and the idea that we have this vision of ourselves being completely different versions of ourselves on holiday, or that by escaping reality we can some how escape ourselves.
Insightful, reflective, and beautifully written.
Listening To
I came across a clip of JERUB (one of my favourite artists) talking about music he loves. When asked what was the song you wish you could experience for the first time again he replied “My Mind” by Yebba
Naturally, I went straight to listen — and I’ve had it on repeat ever since.
Her voice is incredible, and I’ve since fallen down a little Yebba rabbit hole.
I also discovered another song this month that instantly made me want to dance — always a good sign.
Dopamine Dressing
Is officially here to stay.

I’ve continued dressing for joy this month, and I’m genuinely having so much fun with it — experimenting, playing, and reconnecting with my wardrobe.
Wearing something I love gives me such a confidence boost.
But more than anything I feel like I’m completely dressing for me, experimenting with new clothes and finding what truly brings me joy. I’d highly recommend!
Nature
Signs of spring have been everywhere — blossom, blue skies, bright daffodils, and the occasional warm, sunny moment.
An instant mood lift every time.
I find myself stopping more often to notice it — soaking it in and of course to take a photo or two!
Food
I made some “healthier” cereal bars this month… and they were so good.
Self Care
I finally experienced “The Deluxe Firestone Touch” with Manifest Moon Healing — a 90-minute hot stone massage.
It was incredible.
The warmth of the stones felt deeply restorative, and I floated home afterwards. In hindsight, I wish I’d listened to my body and gone straight to bed, instead of diving back into work, and hours of policies and paperwork.
Lesson learned — next time, rest comes first.
Adventures
Adventures continue to be a huge source of joy for me.
This month included:
A beautiful day at Clumber Park with my best friend — peaceful, so much to explore and nothing beats chatting IRL.
My solo date in London (which I shared in last week’s post), which left me feeling completely uplifted and excited for next months date.
Local walks (including some beautiful sunrises).
I also visited the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter and was blown away by the creativity, detail and sheer scale of what goes into filmmaking. Even as someone who isn’t a huge Harry Potter fan, I found it fascinating.
And yesterday, I went to the Young V&A to see Inside Aardman: Wallace & Gromit and Friends.
It was wonderfully nostalgic — looking back at Wallace & Gromit who’s adventures have spanned most of my life. But what struck me most was the level of craftsmanship. The time, patience and creativity behind each frame.
In a world increasingly shaped by digital tools and AI, it felt like a powerful reminder of the magic of human creativity — of making, collaborating, and bringing ideas to life by hand.
I really hope we don’t lose that.
March has felt like a month of gentle shifts — of reconnecting with people, creativity, and the small things that bring joy to everyday life.
I’m excited to see what April brings. This is the motto I’m taking into April with me;

Until next time, keep noticing the glimmers.
